In a bid to win the Melbourne Cup today, Tadhg Ryan went to great lengths to keep his race weight down. Little did he consider the consequences of using an inanimate object as his mount in the race that stops a nation.

It was a weekend of milestones. Tadhg, Bronte and Lysander (Nadine and Steve's little one) attended their first Halibut, Tadhg had his first fever and Mind the Gap lost only its forth game in its history. Shame it was the final.
